Aqueduct Racing Analysis — Saturday, November 28, 2020, by Ivan Lopez

1 – 6 Furlongs. MC 40000 Purse $43,000 (UP TO $7,482 NYSBFOA) FOR MAIDENS, TWO YEARS OLD.

7-3-8

Speedy Charlie Five O goes from  Asmussen to Gargan, who hits at 30% first time off the claim. Looks to be the controlling speed here. Pacific Legend ran well in an off the turf affair, now drops for a tag and looks primed for a win. First time starter Romantic Man can’t be overlooked, with Weaver scoring at a 22% debuting at the maiden claiming level.

2 – 6 Furlongs. (Outer Turf) ™Clm 30000n2L Purse $38,000 OUTER TURF (UP TO $6,612 NYSBFOA) FOR FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD

1-4-8

Hurricane Breeze returns to the grass in a group in which she should be considered a top contender. Ortiz is cold as ice, but without Irad in NY, he should be able to take advantage. Corey Scores will wear blinkers for the first time and returns to a group much easier for her. High School Crush can be the upset special here, won her next to last impressively, and now drops in class, never having faced non winners of two lifetime.

3 – 1 1/8 Mile. Discovry-G3 Discovery S. Grade III. Purse $100,000 FOR THREE YEAR OLDS.

1-2-5

The two top picks will be a tough duo to overcome, Shared Sense coming from off the pace and Monday Morning Quarterback probably sitting form just off the leaders. Attachment Rate completes the trio, will need to step up to challenge the two top choices.

4 – 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) Mdn 80k Purse $80,000 (UP TO $13,920 NYSBFOA) FOR MAIDENS, TWO YEARS OLD.

4-2-6

In a race in which the horses that have run haven’t shown much, let’s go with a first time starter. Spirit Maker looks ready to run well first time out for Pletcher and Lezcano picks the mount. Hardison seems to be the horse to beat by his two races, but needs pace to be more effective. American Gentleman is the speed of the speed, now returns after being gelded. Watch out!

5 – 1 1/8 Mile. Clm 12500 Purse $35,000 FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD.

5-4-7

Dynamax Prime drops sharply to the bottom for trainer Rob Atras. I know he hasn’t won at the Big A, but the race sets up perfectly for him. This Can Can Fly is a Finger Lakes shipper that has shown affinity for these kind of longer trips, and the price will be right for him because of the connections. Autostrade just missed last time out at this same level, needs to prove himself over a mile but the group is very light.

6 – 6 Furlongs. Mdn 80k Purse $80,000 (UP TO $13,920 NYSBFOA) FOR MAIDENS, TWO YEARS OLD.

2-6-5

The comment for the fourth race applies here also. Rugged Union is ready for a win first time out and should be at or near the lead in here. All Mo is an Uncle Mo son that debuts for trainer Jonathan Thomas. He hammered at $900,000, so there is something in the tank. Jailbreaker is probably the fastest in here, and if he improves somewhat, he can win wire to wire.

7 – 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) CntrlPrkB100K Central Park S. Purse $100,000 FOR TWO-YEAR-OLDS.

8-7-10

Never Surprised was extremely impressive when winning his debut. To win by 3 and a half lengths at 6 furlongs in the grass is no easy task. If he improves second time out, they will be running for second. Hard Love is another one that was victorious first time out. Seems to be a nice prospect, and if he steps it up a little, he can win. Royne debuted at Woodbine, in a race that was taken off the grass. If he takes to the turf better, and this is what his connections expect, he can be a nice upset.

8 – 6½ Furlongs. ™Alw 82000n1x Purse $82,000 (UP TO $14,268 NYSBFOA) FOR FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD

8-6-5

Center Aisle has been facing the likes of Grade I winner Frank’s Rockette. In this group, there is no filly that resembles her, so she will feel much more comfortable and will be a very tough beat. Undine is the fastest of this bunch, and with Carmouche, she will be at the lead. Looks to be improving with each new race. Say Moi completes the trio, she lost to Mrs. Danvers last time out, and she won a Grade III on Friday extremely easily.

9 – 6 Furlongs. (Outer Turf) TrfSptChmL100K Aqueduct Turf Sprint Championship S. Purse $100,000 OUTER TURF FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD.

6-8-10

Turned Aside comes from running at Kentucky Downs, in a race in which he drew the rail. Now draws much better and Lezcano can stalk the early leaders in what is supposed to be a hot pace. Maxwell Esquire is improving with each new start and I like the Vargas Jr. mount. The yielding ground improves his chances. The very consistent Therapist runs in a much shorter distance that what he prefers, but with the right setup, he cant be overlooked.

10 – 1 3/8 Mile. (Turf) ™LngIlnd-G3 Long Island S. Grade III. Purse $100,000 FOR FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD

9-4-7

This race doesn’t have much speed penciled in, so probably Theodora B will be able to sit just off the pace. Lezcano takes over the mount. Mutamakina had some trouble in her US debut, is now her second in the states, and although she is facing better fillies now, she is a proven stayer and will be right there at the finish. Beau Belle will improve her last one if the grass is firm. At 15-1, she is a nice upset special.
