The Durham Cup
- The Great Day(ARG) – Patrick Husbands/Arnauld Delacour
- The Great Day is coming out of the Del Cap in which I also handicapped for the website back in August. I think he more of turf horse or even a cheap dirt horse. Synthetic is new for him, and so is Patrick Husbands. Great speed figures coming into this race, and should be flying late.
- Say The Word- Rafael Hernandez/ Gail Cox
- Another turf horse switching to synthetic. This horse is going out for Gail Cox for the first time today instead of Graham Motion. Has yet to win on synthetic in 4 starts. Gets the best jockey at Woodbine however which is a plus. Not sure what to think.
- Thor’s Rocket- Justin Stein/ Paul Buttigieg
- Thor’s Rocket has became quite a hanger lately. Stein just can not get this horse to finish down the stretch as good as Alan Garcia could. Has run good in restricted stakes races on the synthetic course at Woodbine but I think he might be in over his head here.
- Special Forces- Alan Garcia/ Kevin Attard
- I like Special Forces a lot in this spot. Small field and the class of the field when it comes to synthetic races. I think Garcia will have him loaded in the stretch and ready to fire. Should be closing hugely on the outside.
- Aheadbyacentury- Luis Contreras/ John Ross
- This horse is my least favorite of the bunch. No true runstyle and a bunch of mid pack finishes. Somehow he is 7/2 ML and I just can’t figure it out. He has lost to 60% of the field as well in previous races. Just a total toss for me.
