Gulfstream Park Racing Analysis — Thursday, May 28, 2020, by Tom Stoner

Glad to be back in the saddle for The Daily Gallop boys. With a tremendous amount of rain forecasted for southern Florida, I’m going to handicap these races for off the turf which makes it extra difficult not knowing who will scratch and who run. If they should happen to stay on the Turf I will update picks on my twitter feed before 1st race post, @stonerhole

Best Bet Race 6  #3 Joe Di Baggio
Price Play Race 5 #2 Amadora
Race 1) 8-3-11  Very few of these horses have done anything when they’ve been on the dirt so I’ll take a chance with the #8 Wonder Blondy who ran a solid second at this level on the turf last time out.

Race 2) 6-3-2  #6 Paladio Has had some very solid works in the past week for his debut and trainer Sano has been pretty hot of late. If #11 Full Send draws into this race off the AE list I’ll put him on top on the big class drop from his first start.

Race 3) 9-12-6 #9 Generic Mark broke his maiden last time out in the slop at this distance. A similar trip here should give him his second win in a row.

Race 4) 7-12-10  #7 Storm Delite is a first time starter for trainer De La Cerda who is 24% with his debut runners in maiden claiming races. This doesn’t seem to be a banner field either so I’ll take the shot with him.

Race 5)  2-6-1 #2 Amadora Showed speed in her last start in an off the turf race at this distance just getting caught late in the stretch. A repeat of that race should be good enough in here.

Race 6)  3-8-5  #3 Joe Di Baggio come in here 3rd off the lay and drop in class after an ok 4th last out beaten only 4 lengths. Speed figures have been increasing steadily in his last 3 starts. a little more improvement should put him in the winners circle today.

Race 7)  6-11-3 #6 Genghis is entered as an MTO and won his last at this distance on the dirt. Moves up in class but I’m not overly impressed with the other runners in here on the dirt.

Race 8)  5-2-4 IMO the most competitive race of the day. #5 Flashing Diamond comes in second off a brief freshening for Klesaris who’s 15% with these types of runner. 8 for 21 at Gulfstream is certainly impressive.

Race 9)  4-5-8 #4 Dancingwithjimmieb just missed 3 back in a race taken off the turf at a higher level. Same effort and the drop in class should get the job done today.
Good Luck!!!!!
