Race 7:
#8 Speighstown Gal 4-1
#5 Lucky Jingle 8-1 ML
#3 Sunset Promise 6-1 ML
#8 Speighstown Gal was meant for turf first out but was rained off, but still ran well to break the maiden in the off the turf race and should appreciate the switch to the turf today. #5 and #3 have been facing much better company out of town, notably Crystalle and BC juvenile turf winner Sharing. Should find the company today much more to their liking
Race 8:
#9 Kimura 12-1 ML
#8 Sound Machine 9-5 ML
#1 Spanish Point 3-1 ML
The top two choices on the ML look formidable and the #8 for Saez and Saffie Joseph will take alot of money, but I want to give #9 Kimura a look at 12-1 on the outside. Broke the maiden well going 4.5 first time out in a good time before facing open company at Monmouth at 2-1. This one stumbled at the start and packed it in shortly thereafter, hoping for a better trip today.
Race 9:
#7 Fame to Famous 15-1 ML
#8 Graceful Kitten 5-2 ML
#11 Calibrator 12-1 ML
#7 Fame to Famous comes in from New York off a win, has improved in each start, gets Saez and had tussled with Decorated Invader in the past who with a better trip couldve won the BC Juv Turf. Doubt we get 15-1 on this one with presence of Saez. #8 Graceful Kitten had the lead to the stretch against much better in the Breeders Cup and this is a massive drop down in class. #11 Calibrator won nicely for Navarro going shorter and and should the mile within his scope.
Race 10:
#4 Fort McHenry 8-5 ML
#3 Gemo 6-1 ML
#10 Poe 4-1 ML
#4 Fort McHenry really put it all together last time, improving on the beyer scale by a whopping 20 points. While he looks like a strong single, #3 Gemo did actually beat him two back and with some improvement and regression from the top choice, could make it close again. Poe has been racing well at shorter distances but willing to give him another chance going the mile after faltering going 1 1/16 3 back.
Race 11:
#9 Peace Speaker 15-1 ML
#2 Unlimited Data 4-1 ML
#6 TIz Luna 10-1 ML
#9 Peace Speaker is very interesting. Mary Eppler claimed this one in February of 2018 off Kiaran McLaughlin for 40k. Obviously, something went wrong that day as they were subesequently off for 17 months. Eppler gave up on the horse and dropped him in for 10,000 in July of 2019. I think Eppler would want to have that one back as this one won easily by 3.5 lengths going 1.36.1 for the mile. New trainer Sanchez has subsequently tried THREE times to get this one back on the turf with no luck. Gets back to the grass today and the price is certainly right.
