Fair Grounds Racing Analysis — Friday, March 15, 2019, by Trey Ketterer

Race 1: **turf or dirt**
#8 SHAE’S DAY first time turfer has been screaming for more ground at Delta Downs and finds it today, this habitual 2nd place finisher get his nose down today. #9 PANCHO’S LUCKY BOY is 6 for 12 in the money on the grass and this will be his 3rd start off short layoff today could be the day he finds the winners circle.        #4 ATLANTIC RULER has ran well at fairgrounds in the past and should like the added ground today
8-9-4

Race 2:
#1 HANDIWORK – This 6 time winner catches an easier field than he ran against in this last race where the winner has banked over 300k, with the abundance of horses that want to be on or near the lead in here today I see him getting a nice ground saving trip behind the speed and coming to get them in the lane.
#11 DESERT PROPHET – Ran well last time while winning and earning the highest last race speed fig of today’s field, He is giving up experience to most of these but I think he has reasons to improve 3 start off the 60 day break.
#4 BEAUTIFUL GAME drops in half today from 10k to 5k ignore his last out I don’t think he liked the tight turns of Delta Downs and never got involved, Has a lot of back class having faced 2 multiple stakes winners Mitole and Runaway Ghost at this time last year, good to see Colby Hernandez get back on him.
  1-11-4

Race 3: **On Turf**
#9 ANYTIME ANYPLACE 5 wins on the grass from 16 tries, 3rd start off 45 day freshening for trainer Ron Faucheux (34%) @ the meet, could lead them every step of the way.
#1 TURNER TIME. Won at first asking at FG last Feb and has show he can preform off a layoff, first time turf but bred to like it, going for 3rd straight win.
#6 MINI CHUNK Very consistent type in the money 9/13 starts with 5 wins tactical speed but can sit right off like him at a bit of a price.
9-1-6

Race 3:**On Dirt**
#13 LEWYS VAPORIZER 12 time winner has banked 425k, beat majority of this field last time but was DQ, I think the layoff did him well and he’s back to his winning ways.
#12 WILDWOOD DEJAVU won via DQ against my top choice last time I expect these to battle it out.
#1 TURNER TIME Won at first asking at FG last Feb and has show he can preform off a layoff, going for 3rd straight win at FG with one of them being in the slop.
13-12-1

Race 4:
#7 FLATOUTANDFOXY classy filly takes a huge drop after facing Chocolate Kisses last out who went on to punch her ticket to the KY Oaks with a win in the G3 Honeybee at OP,  Hoping for a hot pace and to see her rolling late.
#8 DREAMING DIAMONDS will be favored and should be,6 winner of 2 in a row aims to make it 3 straight as a 3 yr old and seems to be getting better, Cox is hitting at 29% first off the claim and get the services of Florent Geroux (Cox/Geroux  have teamed up for 4 wins 3 seconds from 9 starts in the last 14 days)
#9 EASTON EMPRESS this daughter of Cairo Prince is on the improve and can run big at a price here , a little rain wouldn’t hurt.
8-7-9

Race 5:
#4 CHICAGO BLUES could end up alone on the front end and has the ability to get it done, 11/14 in the money on turf.
#8 HARV WONT TAP makes his 5 yr old debut following a string of good workouts expect him to be rolling late.
#7 NOBLE THOUGHT another that lacks early pace but always comes running, 1 for 1 on the FG turf and 1 for 1 on an off track should get his piece.                         5-8-7

Race 6:
#10 TIME KEY had a rough trip last time out against tougher, gets a positive rider switch, that mixed with the class drop is enough for me.
#13 OMA LEE If she draws in from the AE I give her a big shot, got absolutely stopped in last and still went on to run 3rd against similar, outside post helps, figures to lay right off the speed.
#9 L L L COLLEGE FUND this speedball will try and to play catch me if you can, in the money 9/14 think she hangs on and gets a piece.
#4 DAYLIGHT DELIGHT has the ability to rate in a field where many don’t, 2 rough trips in a row hoping for a clean run down the lane.
10-13-9-4

Race 7:
#3 MARCIA ROSE just missed at this level last time out with a cleaner trip I expect her to get the job done.
#10 MISS RIPPINLIPS 0-22 maiden has hit the tri 15 times, I don’t think the added 1/2 a furlong helps today, makes the lead and tries to out last my top choice.
#11 TIZ DARBY lightly raced 6yo cutting back from a route to five and a half furlongs  makes me think she will have a little more in tank today at a price.
3-10-11

Race 8:
#4 MISS YOU JO after breaking from the 9 hole he was caught wide throughout and still ran a big one to finish 2nd only horse in this race with a win at FG.
#7 BINDER comes over off I solid 3rd place at Delta to a run away winner, Corey Lanerie up for the small barn is a good sign.
#8 LIAISON HALO normally not a fan of 3yr olds this time of year vs older or first time routers but this is a bad field, will be over bet might get a piece
 4-7-8

Race 9:
#5 PEACE TREATY PAT much much the class of this field dropping from MSW40k to mcl10k has never raced this cheap and looks like a single to me.
#1 STRIKINGLY SMART a bit of a one paced filly chased a runaway winner last out, if she runs that race back she will get a piece here but will be over bet.
#8 DORI’S BIRDIES 5yr old mare has the age advantage on most of these and has hit the board at this condition at FG 3 races in a row looking to make it 4.        5-1-8
