Canterbury Park Racing Analysis — Wednesday, June 24, 2020, by Logan Atkins

Canterbury Park- Wednesday, June 24, 2020

Race 1: Claiming $4,000- 5 Furlongs Dirt (Fillies and Mares 3y/o and up, have not won in 2020, or never won four races)

Picks:

#3- Papa Mambo: In the money each of last three outings. We’ll see if she can post her first win of career today.

#1- Council Rules: Looking to improve from last outing that saw this mount finish in second half of the pack. Down in Class. Look for this mount to be close at the wire today.

#6- Distinct Approval: In the money and a winner in last two outings. This mare runs well under trainer Michael C. Bolinger. We should see this horse come in at a good price today.

Race 2: Claiming $16,000- 1mile Turf (Maidens + 3y/o and up.)

Picks:

#4- Whata Perfect Day: Love the position this horse is in this afternoon. Jockey and trainer team up to win together on nearly 30% of their outings. Down in class today.

#8- Mischievous Mo: Here we have another jockey/trainer combination winning 27% of their races together.  Third race of career, this horse looks to rebound from last outing and should be in the mix today.

#5- Hoist Your Glass- Up in Class. We should get a good price on this horse. I see potential in this horse being trained by Bravo Francisco, (27% win and place, last 22 starts as trainer.)

Race 3: Allowance- 6 Furlongs Dirt ( 3y/o and up which have never won two races, or MN bred non-winners of three races)

Picks:

#2- Coastline Sermon: This horse runs well under jockey Chad Lindsay. Look for a good price here, after a disappointing last outing.

#1- Bully for Eric: High power rating and will go off at a good price. Worth the play with 3 place finishes in 7 career races.

#4: Parlay Pete: Up in Class. Good effort last outing. Strong jockey/trainer ROI.

Race 4: Maiden Special- 7 ½  Furlongs Turf ( 3y/o and up.)

Picks:

#2 Aubrey Ridge: Comes from very competitive turf Dam. Top Power Rating/Good Price, Good jockey/trainer ROI)

#4 J P Warrior: Up In Class. I’m liking a lot of the jockey/trainer combination ROI’s today and this is yet another.

#5 Always Cool: Down In Class. Good Jockey/Trainer ROI. Maybe a bit over valued today.

Race 5: Claiming $4,000- 6 ½ Furlongs Dirt (3y/o and up, have not won in 2020 or never won four races)

Picks:

#4 Handsome John: Good performance last race, coming in third. I really like Francisco Arrieta on this mount today.

#5 Cyclone Dan: Big power rating. Looks to improve from last outing. Dean Butler should be the right jockey for this animal.

#6 Lonesome Highway: Two wins in six outings so far this year. I would take a shot with this horse for the price.
