Tampa Bay Downs Racing Analysis — Wednesday, January 9, 2019, by Mark Marino

Race 1
4- Midnight Blvd
Speed and fade last out, should be much fitter this time around. In a race without much speed can take them gate to wire
3- Bridge of Sighs
Already a two time winner at the meet for the hot Arriagada barn.
5- Jokers Queen
Showed some speed and backed up third start off the layoff. She can get a piece of the action.

Race 2
7-Mi Tia Christina
Loves this track with all four career wins coming here. Gets a nice outside post
4-Milbra
Coming in from south Florida, should get some pace to run into at a nice price.
6- R Sweet Exchange
Coming off a win over the track for leading trainer Bennett

Race: 3
8- Domestic Violet
Going to take a shot with this four year old daughter of Flatter. She’s been working ok over the track with a nice outside post.
1-Lady Breanna
Takes an important drop in class. The only negative is the rail, but she has enough speed to get a good trip.
5-Diastole
Drops back in for a tag. She seems to be a trial maiden who likes to get a share.

Race 4:
1-Candy Kingdom
Ran well from a tough outside post first time out, now gets first time turf, the rail. and blinkers at a good price
4-Drillant
Ran ok on a off the turf affair and takes a drop in class. Gets back to his preferred surface to boot.
3-Fine Tune
Going to take the bigger price of the two Wilkes horses. This one ran ok over the dirt at Churchill; now gets back on the turf and takes a drop in class.

Race 5:
1-Rapid Route
Has speed to get position from a not ideal rail position going seven furlongs, and takes a drop in class
6-Chasity
Has run two good races so far at this meet for the hot Fisher barn.
5-Glamours Thunder
Goes from turf to dirt and has run ok over this track. He can get a piece at a big price.

Race 6:
6-Profiteer
When Shug sends them to Tampa, they’re usually ready to go. This one has speed to get a good trip on a course he’s run well over already.
2-Can’thelpbelieving
One of two from the Motion barn. He drops out of stakes company, and is using this as a prep for longer races down the road. He definitely has the class to win, with earnings over half a million.
4-Cammack
Is a win machine from the Block barn over a course he likes. In his career, he has two wins and a second in three starts at Tampa.

Race 7:
5-Barefoot Cove
He’s a horse I liked last time out, and just ran evenly for a struggle. Barn will hopefully be fitter this time around
4-Nephew Howard D
Three of his four wins have come over this track.
3-Amberjack
Showed more speed second time over the track and just got beat. Is rounding into form.

Race 8:
2-Secret Lifestyle
Ran well over the turf two races back. His last on the dirt was just ok, now gets back to the grass and should get a nice trip.
1-Tony
Has a win and a third in four races over this course. Should get some speed to run into.
5-Break the Storm
Is the price play in the race. Gets back on the turf after a even third on the dirt, and can get a piece at a big price.

Race 9:
4-D’rock
Ran a ok second over the track and should get some pace to run into.
10-Pegasus on the Go
Is taking a big drop in class for a barn that’s one won with half of their starters at the meet.
9-Darwish
Stopped on a dime last out, now takes another drop in class for hot connections.

Race 10:
8-Gio Nasty One
First timer gets Allen aboard. Works have been ok for the son of Gio Ponti from the Bennett barn.
9-Regan’s Heart
Camacho sticks with this one over the 2. This one has run well over the turf and should get a nice stalking trip.
7-Kid Slipper
The second one from the Bennett barn showed speed first out to finish third in the same race the favorite is coming out of. He will have to make up a few lengths on him, but has a bullet work since the race.
