Race 10 – Grade III Mr. Prospector Stakes; 7F Dirt
Today’s featured stakes race is the G3 Mr. Prospector Stakes featuring 12 quality runners for whom you could create a legitimate case for a win. My top choice goes to #7 Diamond Oops who comes in off the Breeder’s Cup Sprint and a bullet work. He extends a furlong which could be a difference maker for this versatile runner. This horse actually won this race last year, and has maintained top form. He has a great late kick which he will need some pace to run into-which should be provided by a few including my second choice #2 Cool Arrow. He will be forwardly placed with solid speed and if he gets loose, you never know. The jockey/trainer combo is 2/6 with a great ROI and brings this horse in on a bullet. #8 Sleepy Eyes Todd woke up last time and won a solid stakes race against a good field including True Timber who just won the Cigar. This horse is often overlooked for some reason and I may have done the same by not making him my top choice. A couple others to watch include #9 Firenze Fire who is just an absolute warrior even since leaving the Servis barn and #12 Mind Control who may have one more left in the tank coming off a great workout and will be a nice price.
