Stake Preview: G3 Red Smith- Saturday Nov 23 2019- By Spencer Luginbuhl

#1 Tiz a Slam This woodbine shipper is Multiple G3 winner on the turf and has also won a G2 this year and now drops from G1 company. he seems to have leveled off at a Mid to High 90 Beyer and will show speed from an inside post. the big negative is Trainer Roger Attfield is awful off layoffs

#2 Petit Fills: European import from the Clement barn won a G3 earlier in the year but hasnt been at his best in the 2 latest races Clemant isnt the best first time North America

#3 Nakamura: Ran a good second last time out in a G3 the lastest win came in an N2X allowance. I like Jose Ortiz jumps back on this might be one to mainly use underneath verticals. he has also worked 2 bullets in his two workouts since his last race

#4 Marzo: Another great claim by Mike maker, claimed for 62K this son of Medaglia d’Oro is now a G3 winner and is in excellent form. His numbers fit with everyone except the favorite and that 10-1 is juicy definite contender.

#5 Red Right Hand: Broke the maiden smartly for 50K and then has been on the turf ever since nice N2X win last out only scare for me is the fact over the last 4 he has gone good race bad race and this race seems to be a bad race numbers-wise for him.

#6 Dot matrix: NIce NY bred stake win two back another that fits on numbers at a big price. stretching out past 1 1/8 for the first time against a good group of turf routers. should show speed on the stretchout.

#7 Sadler’s Joy; 3 straight races with 100+ Beyers and a solid G1 runner the drop to a G3 is interesting this is one horse that always seems to come up too late. I will be trying to beat him today but when he wins by 3 I wont be surprised.

#8 Red Knight: Another solid NY Bred this one does have a G2 win over the soft ground at Keeneland so a little rain would be welcome for him. The last 3 races he has improved his Beyers and a nice win in the 100K listed stake last out at Belmont sets him up well here.

#9 Have at it: definitely prefer the other Clement runner. He won a G2 last year but that last win was done stalking a slow pace so I would downgrade that last number to a 90 instead of 94

#10 Postulation: Numbers are just a cut below these

#11 Glorious Empire This horse knocked me out of everything at the 2018 saratoga Meet and now this year has only raced twice with declining Beyers Pass for me
