#6 Spa Shackalacka: Stretches out like his other main pace rival to his inside. Philip D’Amato is also good when bringing them back second off a layoff 32%. This gelding two wins have come on the lead so he should be there again.
#5 Elwood J: 3 back he ran very good in a 20K claimer to get second he then dropped back into restricted company and was claimed By Jeff Metz who second off the claim 15% hes just a little better first off 17%. he jumped him into an open 22K claimer and he ran ok at big prices just missing second by less than a few body parts. I feel he is sitting on a big one. the negatives are he seems like more of an underneath type who likes to hit the board but not win
#3 Odyssey Explorer: closer in a race with not much speed hurts him but he’s improving on the Beyer scale and 4-4 in the money over his last 4 don’t leave off your verticals.
Race 3
3-2-5
#3 Lomu: Decided to go with a firster in here good Sire stats and Neil Drysdale is very good first-time turf.
#2 Dimkar: Prat Jumping on a new horse in a turf race almost means an automatic contender. the debut was ok and now adds blinkers.
Race 4
5-1-2-6
#5 Microithms: so just some quick bullet points in a very tough race
big Jockey switch to Mike Smith. In his only race against this competition, he lost to his outside rival but the third place rival came right back and won a G3. Im hoping the jockey switch wakes him up and he can improve the Beyer back to his second place 3 back.
#1 Zulfikhar: Nice third last time out in a graded stake. Bob Baffert is good off the layoff and with some maturity from 3 to 4 he should improve to a low 90 Beyer. Seems to be at the right distance as the one time he stretched out he raced on a muddy track and couldn’t break an 80 Beyer
#2 Graycaster: Loves Santa Anita and gets back to that track. Something obviously went wrong in his last race as we have the big layoff. He should have first run over any others being a pace presser and the one big negative is Prat jumping off.
#6 He has just missed in 3 consecutive races at this level just trying to beat a proven loser.
Race 5
8-4
#8 Tick Tock: Pretty weak MC field only two contenders pretty easy to narrow it down> Trainer William Morey has great numbers with second time starters in MC events 32% positive ROI. He keeps the same jockey and they are together hitting at over 20%. This filly hit the board for 50 and now drops to the bottom of the class level. she has speed to her outside and another horse adding blinkers but should get a nice trip 2-3 lengths off the lead.
#4 Choi: She ran ok on debut against MSW with a good Beyer for this field of 51. They then decided to stretch her out and she showed more early pace that day but that was about it. Now she has a layoff to deal with and she keeps the ice cold Gutierrez in the saddle. Dont take to short a price on this one for me she has to drift up to 5-2.

Race 7
6-3-7-5
#6 Kingly: Morning line favorite and tough to get away from although Bob Baffert hasnt been hitting so well at Santa Anita and I’ve got him on top twice today. this Colt went to the lead and never looked back good Beyer should improve second out and the stretch out shouldn’t matter.
#3 Gray Magician: G3 Placed one hore to come out of the Sham came back to win this exact type of race. The distance shouldn’t be a problem look two back at the maiden breaker. He is also adding blinkers today so he might be just a bit closer from a pace standpoint.
#7 Extra Hope: This is where Prat ends up riding and im sure he had multiple calls in this race. Nice bullet work leading into the race and with 3 straight low 80 Beyers he fits but may need to improve if the 6 or 5 also jump up off there maiden wins first out.
Race 8
3-12 if draws in
#3 Brix: the play of the day for me nice second last out going down the hill and there isn’t really anyone else in the field I’m scared of. he should be able to get a nice stalkin inside trip and should be a big overlay play for me.
