Race 2

5-2-1

#5 Awesome Amanda: This M.L. has been improving every start. This class drop feels more like finding a good spot more than a firesale. Trainer Dan Blacker is off to a cold start to the meet but is good second off a layoff in dirt sprint maiden claimers 33% (2-6). I also like the Journeyman rider switch from the bug rider.

#2 Big Base: Was running good enough Beyer’s before the break albeit against weaker. In the comebacker, Joel Rosario took over and the filly had a bad start and didn’t miss by that much 2 1/4 lengths. She did lose to a couple of others that show up back here I think she is very likely to hit the board and she might also be closer to the pace with a better start today.

#1 Perfect Portrait: Another dropping in class I don’t think they know exactly what to do with this son of Munnings. I do know that Munnings as a sire has a much better Tomlinson at this extended sprint the bad news is The trainer has been dreadful with layoff dirt sprinters.

Race 3

5-4-3

Race 4

8-2-1

Race 5

3-6-4

#3 Meritocracy: Hard to take on top at a short price. She is improving every race although she did lose in a 20K bottom level claimer and did miss the board although 4 horses decided it by less than 2 lengths. The connections for this filly havent been that good at the meet 5% for the jock 9% for the trainer. If she can run the same race as two back she is very dangerous here although dont take at under 2-1

#6 Goodtingscominpink: Trainer Vladamir Cerin is very good when claiming 31% in 16 starters. He claims from a solid Kitchenman barn and this horse doesn’t need much improvement although she did run to me a nice workout 48.3 in 4 furlongs since the claim so maybe he likes what he saw. She was right behind the leaders in the last race and speed is always good in the maiden claiming ranks.

#4 Twirling Diamond: Comes out of the same race as our top pick. Ran a very good 51 two back when up on a fast pace. She then dropped into the claiming ranks and ran ok split the field. The big negative is the trainer doesn’t usually win with these layoff types.

Race 6

1-4-7

#1 Allaboutaction: Claimed 4 back off good trainer Peter Miller won her debut for the new Barn in a 40K optional with a mid 90 Beyer. Then he was jumped up to 100K optional claimer Beyer dropped and he finished off the board. Ran back to 40 in his last start and won again and now for this Baze stays in the irons.

#4 Adens Dream: Comes out of the same race as my top pick and look dangerous to hit the board again. He has the reserve angle of more 3rd placings then wins. 6-6 ITM at the distance. NIce price at 6-1

#7 Annie’s Candy:  the M.L fav this is not her best surface and the win 3 back looks better then it should as he was up close to a slow pace and then slowly dropped a few Beyer points in his last 2 for me this horse is off form and faces a salty 40 claimer bunch.

Race 7

3-6-8

#3 Time For Suzzie: There is a lot of speed signed on in here and I think that passing horses will be a key here and her style fits perfectly. She just ran a new Beyer top at a huge price and will probably need to take another step forward to win. The big bullet workout tells me there should be another forward move.

#6 Diosa: Speed Speed and more speed, that is what she brings to the table 2 back she broke 22 flat in her opening quarter. to me, it looks like she is cycling back to one of her better races somewhere in the ’60s and you know she can take some heat on the front end.

#8 Miss Fia: Nice win first time out and not at a slow pace either. Horses running back haven’t really wowed on the Beyer scale and have no next out winners yet. If she can handle winners and more pace to her inside she can repeat although Trainer David Hofmans is 0-12 with last time maiden winners off layoffs of 31-60 days.

Race 8

8-6-4

#8 Oggonis: They paid 50X more than the sire price which is always a big value play for me when they pay over 10x more. Hollendorfer knows how to get them ready first time out. The sire Animal Kingdom with a solid 17% FTS.

#6 Stretford End: 3 races 3 seconds the overwhelming M.L. favorite he has been off for a little over two months but Will Take Charge as a sire has yet to have a win and why not try and beat a horse with a gap in the workout tab.

#4 Grit and Curiosity: The best one for Peter Miller in my eyes. it has the best recent 6-furlong work and you also get a bug apprentice aboard.
