Monmouth Park Racing Analysis — Sunday, September 29, 2019, by Neil Petrocelli

Race 1:  7 – 4 – 3

Thinking the filly Bearing Secrets is entered against the boys because she’s doing so well.  Last was a big time win – 10 of 13 in the money on dirt. Blurred Line recent form makes him ultra competitive.  Consistently highest speed ratings – will be tough. Sensational Zip smart barn claim, and drops. His best race takes this.

Race 2: 5 – 2 – 1

What About Tonight takes this off the drop, been running in the best races, and seems primed with Paco returning.  Exceed the Goal comes off big win, where claimed by smart barn starts returning dividends today. Distinctive lady may go from the rail and be compromised just enough by the other speed.

Race 3: 8 – 6 – 4

Masque D’Oiseau was a $130K buy in June (in training sale) with modest breeding – hints there at ability.  Bred for grass, especially on the bottom – takes this from outside (avoids trouble). Get Directions hails from smart barn with steady work pattern – will grass, and gets Paco.  Uplifted, may prove to be best of these long term – might need one, and may need longer.

Race 4: 1 – 4 – 2

If she doesn’t break – What to Expect will be left with a lot to do, especially on the cutback.  Thinking the strategy is to go, and the route races give her the necessary finish. Shanghai Shuffle a repeat of her last may have her taking this.  Been consistent of late. Fiore been enjoying Mth this season, think the claimed ‘off of’ begins to show….

Race 5:  6 – 8 – 7

Debbies Passion – highly thought of by smart barn.  Gallant Plunger will be tougg – nice work for this. Sweetest Party been working steadily for smart barn.

Race 6:  6 – 7 – 3

In a world of Servis and Navarro – let’s go with Duarte to rule the day.  Isolated runs well fresh. Working steadily of late – don’t like the June to Aug. break – so may have issues – a flyer.  Dial Operator this J-bred looks ready for best 3rd off the layoff – once highly thought of as was Restoring Hop, Justify’s blocker.  RH will be formidable.

Race 7: 7 – 1 – 4

Assuming the turf is rock hard, going with the confirmed speed to take them all the way.  Publicist looks like she’ll have it her own way on the front end. Crown of Joy – consistent and will save ground, threat to run down leader in the stretch.  Secret Temple another with some finish.

Race 8:  6 – 8 – 2

Puttheglassdown looks awfully tough on the ship in.  Been keeping good company in NY, can stalk and finish, gets the jump on  Lazarus Project, who will be finishing as usual. In the Loop highly thought of, may prove very tough first off the bench.

Race  9: 8 – 2 – 1

Not So Quiet Man looks to sit the outside stalking trip, and will be ridden more patiently today.  Next Cowboy Up – tough to put on a ticket from Kelly barn (0 for 47) but may sit the ground saving trip and get a piece.  Toss is another who looks to save ground while letting the outside speed go. .

Race 10:  5 – 4- 3

Kill Switch looks to repeat big maiden win, no reason he can’t speed pop this group.  Change of Venue may pick up the chasers in the lane, cutback in distance might wake him up.  Fran’s Warrior gets points for consistency.

Race 11:  5 – 3 – 2

Lights Down Low looks formidable off recent starts – takes a subtle drop and the cutback may be just what she needs – last had to give her some added conditioning.  Woman Flyer hasn’t missed a check at the meet – versatile sort – may stalk and take this. Hardly Mate – no dirt form, no sprint form – but runs well fresh and has figures that would take this.
