Monmouth Park Racing Analysis — Sunday, August 4, 2019, by Neil Petrocelli

Race 1:  6 – 3 – 4

J-breds on the turf.  Desperado comes out the best races.  Class drop does the trick. Star Flare has very competitive turf figs, and is 3rd off layoff.  Should be there.  Irish Meadow repeat of last makes him tough.  Has run well going long.

Race 2:  6 – 4 – 2

Trinni Jean – going with the light bulb angle.  Think she stalks from the outside and motors home.  Woman Flyer part of the speed in the field, softens up Princess Rachelle but cannot hold off Jean.  Miss Mimi likes 3rd.

Race 3:  1 – 5 – 6

Spin Cycle takes a step up but a repeat of his last takes this.  The Great Loudini been running in the best races somewhat competitively will be tough to down.  Skipper Dancer steps up off claim, but in good form.

Race 4:   3 – 4 – 6

Bustin Hearts – a repeat of any of her last 3 makes her tough here.  Sits, stalks, pounces. Sweet Yare N Dira looks strongest of speed may shake loose.  Cactus Copy should be competitive.

Race 5:  3 – 2 – 4

Lazarus Project – Paco stays off the claim, points for consistency.  Looks best. Wrong Ben looks best of rest as Juarez returns. Forge will be tough to catch, drops significantly off claim – looking for new address?

Race 6:   3 – 1 – 8

Noble Lion last jumps off the page, and jockey switch seals it.  Lion Charmer hasn’t run a bad one, and will be tough in second off mini layoff.  Paul Cane tough if reproduces last.

Race 7:  7 – 9 – 4

Sixbits looks tough off the drop.  Surface switch serves as a wake up.  Unruly Heir has the speed to clear – and go on with it.  Took Over will be tough, and could compromise Heir and his own chances.

Race 8:  5 – 4 – 1

King of Spades – really hard to look past.  Is in career form, has beaten most of these.  Marksman return to grass should move him up and put him closer to KoS.  Vigas will also appreciate return to grass.

Race 9:  3 – 2 – 5

J-breds running for 65K – nice!  My Carrots coming in off a 2 ½ year layoff – have to give props to the connections for keeping the faith.  Showed real talent back in the day, and the works are impressive. Visionary Ruler could be compromised by the other speed, but looks tough.  Groovy Tale tough if he sits the outside stalking trip.

Race 10:   9 – 3 – 7

Foolish Humor from the powerful Ward barn – debut was impressive, Ascot run forgivable.  Will improve off debut, smart barn, well meant in debut, improves. Miss J McKay impressive debut, nice grass work in advance of this.

Race 11:  5 – 1 – 4

Bostaleto looks tough expecially with Lopez staying.  Best Offer class drop helps, a repeat of figs just a couple back can take this.   Best Choice statebred drops in for this. Juarez stays, should be tough.
