It will be interesting to see how some of the stats, especially for first time claimers and first time starters hold up in light of recent events. For now I will consider those who are not scratched as valid stats.
Race 1
#5 Storm The Bridge is a first timer for Chrichton who is 31% with debut maiden claimers. He should be ready to fire today. #11 Mozano Cut back a little which should help considering the early speed ability. Sweeney is having a nice meet. #6 Alaskan first off the claim for Zerpa (31%). Has been through a couple of barns and has tried turf, dirt, routes and sprints. Has some talent.
5-11-6
Race 2
#3 No No Nina Is a first time starter for Clement Off of steady works she should be more than ready…see what I did there? #6 Bucky’s Drama has shown the most of those who have raced but is stepping up a little here in this race. #2 Saucy Tune Is set to improve off of a decent debut effort. Can’t do much better than Ortiz on the mount.
3-6-2
Race 3
#6 Bad Beat Brian Is off a bullet work out off of the maiden win. McLaughlin is 20% with last out winners. Expecting him to be on the lead again. #4 Dynadrive is off the claim by Maker (14%) from a high-quality operation. He is set to run well. If he runs back to his December effort in Tampa he will be tough. #2 Danzing Dunhill is running well for Weaver. Should be involved early and has staying power.
6-4-2
Race 4
#6 Kozy Dreams drops in class for Becker (23%) and is off the lay off (28%) with biweekly work out since January. Should see a nice improvement. #5 Princess Avril is a first time starter for Barboza who is 21% with debut maiden claimers. #3 Irish Thunder has finished in the money five out of nine times and should be in the mix today.
6-5-3
Race 5
#6 Bebeau has raced well enough to have earned a victory at this point. Will be involved early again today I don’t think he will be pushed too hard setting up for the win. #4 Sir Chubby Responded well to the drop in class last out and should build off that effort today. #3 Thenorthremembers ran second to a next out winner last out and has worked steady since. Will be a factor here today.
6-4-3
Race 6
#1 Samoa should be able to use early speed to get ahead and control the race. #3 Looking For More will be looking for the number one to tire so she can pass but that may be a tall order. This one certainly looks like a two horse race.
1-3-7
Race 7
#1 Solar Is off the win and a bullet work for Breen, who is 30% with last out winners. Should be running well when it matters late in this race. #2 Gambler’s Fallacy is back to the preferred turf surface. The switch should help this one get back on track. She has the best speed and Brown is 25% plus and all the relevant angles. #7 I’m the Captain Now Has some back class but it will take a nostalgic effort to get it done today.
1-2-7
Race 8
#8 Cucina is starting for the first time for Mott (17%) off of a significant layoff. Was overmatched but ran respectfully against tougher company. Today’s class relief should help. #4 The Virginian Ran well off the pace last out and caught the leader. Could employ similar tactics in his first race against winners. #3 Deo Forte has been facing tougher and should welcome some relief. He comes in off a sharp bullet work a couple of weeks ago
8-4-3
Race 9
#1 Mobeatyabad faces winners for the first time. Thomas is 15% with last out winners and 36% with horses second off. Castellano will play catch me if you can. #8 Ricki Ticki Taffi should be close to the number one throughout this race. Has shown the speed to get it done in the past. #4 Beyond Gone has shown flashes of ability and one of those efforts could surprise the group. This torpedo will need a big improvement to get the win.
1-8-4
Race 10
#7 Aerodynamic Is an anchor choice who is second off for Pletcher (20%) dropping further in class. Has shown improvement and I think it will show more today. #4 Princesa Crystal Is it one of two horses who have had a speed figure close to number seven which was in her last race. #3 Funny Feather Is an interesting torpedo who will be ready should the favorites falter she comes off a nice bullet work.
