Aqueduct Racing Analysis- Thursday Feb 28 2019- By Spencer Luginbuhl

Race 1

3-4

#3 Creative Styles: In a very weak Maiden 20K I decided to go with both Rice Entries this one is the lone MSW dropper and also is coming off a long layoff so he should have matured more and this is his first time running at 4

and is also a first time Gelding. Linda is good at dropping from MSW to MC but isn’t the best with horses off 6 month plus layoffs. some negatives are he doesn’t seem to break all that well and that makes him a closer.

#4 Our Honor: 4-5 on the line to me is crazy its hard to improve a horse after claiming from Chad Brown and she is also technically dropping in class. but there isn’t much else in here.

Race 3

5-4

#5 Whistling Birds: One of the best speed jocks is back that being Kendrick Carmouche and this colt was the leader in a really fast-paced race last time out and now gets a shorter field and his speed should help him go gate to wire.

#4 Daring Disguise: The running style hurts this one although he does get one of the better jocks for coming from behind. Trainer Linda Rice is very good with second start maiden including having a Positive ROI.

Race 4

6-3-4

#6 Dr. Loyd: picked this one on top as Junior ended up on here as well. improved in latest work and needs to show he can stretch out. It is good that he can stay close to the pace. Trainer Linda Rice is also good at winning back to back.

#3 Captain Frost: The other Linda Rice entry broke his maiden on the stretch out but needs to show he will be ok on a fast track. Junior jumping off is a concern although Jose Lezcano is having a great meet.

Race 5

5-2

#5 Craigville Beach: Was up against it from a pace standpoint he was 11 lengths back after a 1/4 mile and then had two slower interior fractions and still closed well for second. He has been improving in every race and if he improves again he will be right there.

#2 Coolboy: He improved off the stretch out and nice to see Reylu stay on. Dutrow isn’t the best off the layoff but this horse has a nice work in the interim. His price might also move up.

Race 7

1-6

#1 American Power: 4-4  ITM at the class level and slowly Improving Beyers tell me he just needs to find the right race and this one seems to be it. He should work out a good trip and there is a lot of pace in this race

#6 Crea’s Bklyn Law: Another closer should get pace to run into and will be running on fast dirt for the first time I think this one has a good chance to hit the board.
