1 – 1 1/8  Mile. MC 20000 Purse $27,000 FOR MAIDENS, THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD.

9-6-4

Open Lengths had a rough start last time, now gets more ground to work with and he has done better on the main track. Carmouche repeats. Paint Music For Me will be running on dirt for the first time in nine months, and Nevin hits at a 29% down two classes. Height didn’t enjoy the stay up north at Finger Lakes, returns south now, and that can do the trick.

2 – 6 Furlongs. (Outer Turf) ‘MC 40000 Purse $43,000 OUTER TURF FOR MAIDENS, THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD FOALED IN NEW YORK STATE

4-9-7

Frat seems to be the fastest in here, and in a race in which we can’t find much early foot, he is the one to catch. Scuttlebuzz drops from straight maidens, and Jonathan Thomas wins at a 29% when taking the shades off, which is the case in here. Tercero just missed in this same group, the cutback in distance can help him get the job done.

3 – 6 Furlongs. ‘OC 40000n2x Purse $74,000 FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD FOALED IN NEW YORK STATE

2-4-3

South Africa won last time out, and the horse that came in third that day won impressively here this week, so the race looks much better now. Wow Brown is another one coming off a solid win, and now gets the services of Joel Rosario, a big improvement in jockey. Power Up Paynter has been running against better horses than this and always gives a good account of him. Dangerous.

4 – 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) ™Clm 30000n2L Purse $38,000 (UP TO $6,612 NYSBFOA) FOR FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD

9-6-8

Kemba drops in class being one of the fastest in here, if not the speediest. If she is let loose, she can wire this field. Giggle Factory seems to be on the improving side, and hasn’t faced this condition yet. Lido Key goes second time out for Mike Maker, who has been cold at the Big A, so he is due for a win.

5 – 6 Furlongs. ‘MC 40000 Purse $43,000 FOR MAIDENS, TWO YEARS OLD FOALED IN NEW YORK STATE

1/1A-4-6

First time starter Oliver’s Fortune and Writer’s Regret form a very nice entry. Works have been good enough and the Laoban’s have been running lights out. Writer’s Regret goes second time out and will sport blinkers today, so improvement is widely expected. What’s My Category dictated the pace in his most recent only to be beaten at the wire. Is more or less the same group, so he is one of the top contenders here. Bowing Snowman draws a better number in this one and Lezcano has been riding superbly lately.

6 – 1 Mile. Clm 25000n2L Purse $36,000 FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES.

8-4-9

Tough race to handicap. Elusive Ruler returns to the dirt for the first time since February, and he competed against pretty nice horses down at Gulfstream. This group is very soft, so if he takes to the dirt again, he should be considered one of the horses to beat. Grandgran should encounter a much drier surface and I think he doesn’t like the mud at all. His speed makes him dangerous and the lil cut back will benefit him. Pier Forty finally won a race and then ran very nicely to follow that up. With a little improvement, he can win, no question about it.

7 – 1 Mile. Alw 82000n1x Purse $82,000 (UP TO $14,268 NYSBFOA) FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD

9-8-13

In a race full of early flyers, I prefer stalkers and come from behinders. Will Song For Wine should be stalking that hot pace from a garden spot position and Rosario takes the mount for trainer Bill Mott. Family Biz comes from way off the pack and he is a claim back for trainer David Duggan, an angle I always like. Aasr is the least experienced of this bunch, but has shown talent. Further improvement is not out of the question.

8 – 1 1/8 Mile. ‘AlexMRobbB100K Alex M. Robb S. ROBB S.. Purse $100,000 FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD FOALED IN NEW YORK STATE

3-5-4

City Man is a very professional horse, running well in both turf and dirt. The race sets up nicely for him, and I expect him to be just off the pace and threaten Mr Buff from the half mile pole on. Danny California is in the best form of his life, if those last two marathon like trips have not taken a lot from him, he will be a force to be reckoned with late. Mr Buff is the fastest here, I think he has lost a step but still he needs to be respected for his great record at the Big A.
