Aqueduct Racing Analysis- Friday Dec 13 2019- By Chris Felts

Quick card of 8 races today at Aqueduct, not a whole lot going on with a first post time of 12:30. There could be some value if you look hard enough though, and there might be some rain in the forecast which could leave the track good or muddy so plan accordingly. As always follow me on twitter for any updates or changes @cjfelts87. Best of luck if you’re playing along!

Through 20 Daily Gallop writeups Total: 179-45-35-36 (25% win, 65% ITM)

Aqueduct meet totals: 20-6-2-6, $2.18 ROI for every $2 bet ($40 wagered = $43.50 returned)

Race 1 MSW 60k state bred fillies and mares 3up, 1 mile

Multi Race- A: 5 B: 2,3

Top pick- #5 Petalite

  • This is a bad and short maiden special field but she seems like the most logical contender. The mile distance should not be an issue because routing has always been in her pedigree. Plus, she does her best running first off the layoff and gets Manny Franco in the irons.

Second choice- #3 Anydayisherday

  • Quite honestly you should either single the 5 or hit the all button, but if you are looking for someone to beat the potential favorite here you go. She should be on the front end most of the way around and I like her chances as she stretches out to a mile.

Underneath- #2 That is Key

Race 2 CLM 8k 3up, 1 mile

Multi Race- A: 1/1A entry B: 3,4

Top pick- 1/1A entry

  • The entry makes the most sense here for Drawing Away Stable. The 1, Too Fast to Pass, has a good amount of speed and will be out on the front end. Last out winner and Dylan Davis rides. The 1A, Gypsum Johnny, goes out for Linda Rice and Jose Lezcano. This 7 year old gelding is a presser type who will benefit from the speed of his counterpart. Would play to place.

Second choice- #3 Barnacle Bill

  • He would be the next choice simply because he looks like the least bad of the rest of them. Will be closing so will need a setup but he should be getting that.

Underneath- #4 Lucky Six

Race 3 CLM 25k N2L fillies and mares 3up, 1 mile

Multi Race- A: 2,3 B: 5,7

Top pick- #3 Gunboat Diplomacy

  • This horse is shipping in from Finger Lakes dropping in from a Finger Lakes allowance and those kinds of droppers tend to well in NYRA claiming races. Her last 2 races have been very good and she seems to be rounding into career form.

Second choice- #2 Nasty Affair

  • 7-2 ML favorite for Linda Rice and Eric Cancel, she drops down all the way from the n1x allowance level, adds blinkers and stretches out, but I’ll try to beat her in this spot.

Underneath- #5 Solitary Gem, #7 Smiles from Sadie

Race 4 CLM 14k N3L fillies and mares 3up, 6 furlongs

Multi Race- A: 4,5 B: 3,7,9

Top pick- #4 Dovey Lovey

  • She is improving in form ever since a subpar summer and she comes off a win at the N2L level. Presser type in a race with speed and it’s nice to see Manny Franco stay aboard too.

Second choice- #5 Promise Me Roses

  • Probably the most logical contender to Dovey Lovey, another presser type who has been coming from off the pace and her recent form is decent enough to include her on your tickets if you’re looking for an alternative to the likely post time favorite.

Underneath- #3 Evan’s Nice Now, #7 Cammora, #9 Zandora

Race 5 MCL 25k state bred fillies and mares 3up, 7 furlongs

Multi Race- A: 1,8 B: 5,9

Top pick- #1 Fundarella

  • Draws from the rail and has enough speed to be competitive today. Has improved in form and takes the blinkers off, plus might benefit from the added distance.

Second choice- #8 Deja Raconte

  • She’s a lightly raced filly coming into a new barn going out on dirt for the second time. Not sure I trust her enough to show good form on dirt but it is a slow bunch of maiden claimers and she has flashed speed in turf sprints.

Underneath- #5 Flattering Eyes, #9 Alreadycelebrating

Race 6 CLM 40k N2L fillies and mares 3up, 6 furlongs

Multi Race- A: 6,10 B: 1,3

Top pick- #10 Cadeau de Paix

  • Has been racing against much tougher facing n1x allowance horses since breaking her maiden back in April. This will be her second start off the layoff and she’ll have every right to improve here against an easier bunch, plus she should get a favorable pace setup.

Second choice- #6 Can U Handle This

  • Bit of a longshot play at 15-1 ML but I think there is some value here, she will be overlooked since she hasn’t shown a whole lot on paper but if you go back to her race 3 back she actually ran pretty well against a similar level. Would not overlook at a price.

Underneath- #1 Lady Macho, #3 Moon Heist

Race 7 AOC 40k n2x state bred 3up, 6.5 furlongs

Multi Race- A: 2,7 B: 4,5

Top pick- #2 Five Star Bunt

  • Jail Move alert here, Raymond Handal has a positive ROI first off the claim and he’s moving this gelding up to the n2x level from open state bred claimers. Won his last race getting loose on the lead and although he won’t do that today he will be close all the way around. Has the recent beyers to be competitive too.

Second choice- #7 Playthatfunnymusic

  • This 6 year old gelding is on a 3 race win streak has been putting up competitive beyers. Has enough speed to be involved as he steps up to the n2x level.

Underneath- #4 Hot Diggity, #5 Light the Posse

Race 8 MCL 50k 2yo, 6.5 furlongs

Multi Race- A: 1,5 B: 3,8

Top pick- #1 Tapizearance

  • Hit the board in three in three maiden special tries and couldn’t fire last out in the slop, but now drops to face easier today. Not a great group but seems like the most logical choice.

Second choice- #5 Sixteen Tons

  • Adds blinkers and Carmouche stays aboard, hopes to get back on track after a poor outing on a good track last out.

Underneath- #3 Robber Bob, #8 Super Wicked Charm
