Tampa Bay Downs Racing Analysis — Sunday, January 27, 2019, by Jimmy Moore

Race 1

(4) Kwaina – Lightly raced 7 year old has ran his best races the last few starts, won an N2L here by now stretches out to 1 1/16 for the first time..

(2) Go Black Betty – Is winless in 10 tries at Tampa but has been a consistent runner at this level..

(1) Scottish Sky – One paced type horse seems to be going in the wrong direction.

Race 2

(8) Flower Punch – Looks like Bennett might have this one back on track after a couple of rough outings, been a long time since he has seen the winners circle.but a repeat effort of the last should put him in the lead down the stretch.

(2) Amace – Hasn’t shown much speed lately but runs consistent at this level and this doesn’t seem to be the toughest group..

(6) Chase Your Dreams – First try at Tamps, 2 of 3 wins have come at this distance..

Race 3

(6) My Computer – Lost all chance at the start in the last, was slammed pretty good, finished up well to get 2nd after being well back. Will probably be a real short price but a better trip get him the victory today.

(7) Forest Park – Steady work tab that includes a bullet at this track in December.

(7) Ready To Mingle– The only other horse in the race with experience, should improve 2nd time out..

Race 4

(4) Itsagimme’s Girl – Hot Barn goes first time after the claim, good post and Gallardo has been riding well.

(1) Discreet Cathy – Gets back on turf for only 2nd time, her only try on turf was one of her best races to date. Garcia stays on for new trainer..

(7) Lady Breanna – Filly gets back to the turf for first time since early in her career, she ran well in her only try on turf.

Race 5

(5) Awesome Joey – The wildcard of the race, 5 yr old will be making his first try on dirt but his speed figures on poly should make him competitive if he takes to dirt and should be a good price.

(7) Flat Zapper – Ran well at this level last time finishing 3rd, picks up Morales who is having a good meet..

(4) Mr. Top Fleet – Was favored last time he raced at this level, has the look of an improving 4 yr old..

Race 6

(1) Aquemini – She has been real consistent on turf and the mile seems to be her best distance, should get a good ground saving trip.

(4) Balada – Does her best running on the lead, should be on or near lead with this group..

(8) Fonda Romana – In a closely matched competitive race she looks like the horse to beat, has ran well at Tampa and likes the distance..

Race 7

(2) Schott – Showed improvement in last after recent trainer change, a decent amount of pace in here should get a nice stalking trip and usually finishes up well.

(4) Evolution – Trainer change and big drop in class, on paper has beyer advantage, just not sure about the drop.

(8) Drop The Gloves – 2nd start after layoff, barn still looking for first win of the meet.

Race 8

(8) Odramark– A tough race to figure out with several 1st time starters, trainer changes, layoffs, etc. This one looks to be training well with a bullet work in the last. Keep an eye on the tote in this race for clues.

(1) Cuccidati – Year and a half layoff, Clement brings her back in a protected spot, took money in her races as 2 year old..

(5) Token Vow– Was competitive in several MSW races in California, not gets the trainer change.

Race 9

(2) I Am too Wild – Speedy Wildcat Heir offspring will try to take them gate to wire coming off maiden win

(3) Wall Street Wolf – New Trainer and this 7 year old gets his first try on dirt, only 1/27 lifetime.

(8) Sweet Tea Jack – Lightly raced 4 year old has been consistent, just not quite good enough to win at this level.

Race 10

(1) Glovanna – Wide trip from an outside post in last, has enough speed to gain position from this inside post and should be a big price today..

(4) Legacy Park – Gets the big drop out of the MSW ranks and gets a better post today.
(6) Miss Hattie– Wilkes usually likes to give them time to get going, hasn’t shown any early speed yet, should be able to stay a little closer with this group, finishes well and one of several in here that could win..
