Santa Anita Park Racing Analysis — Friday, January 25, 2019, by Hudson Davis

Another good week last week bringing ROI for the meet up to +$22!!! Let’s keep it going!

Race 1) #1 Love and Peace looks absolutely phenomenal in the spot for Neil Drysdale. This filly has always had come back style running and I think she will blow the field out of the water tomorrow with Joe Talamo aboard.

Race 2) #2 Tip Top Gal could surprise at big odds. I think the class she has run against in the past exceeds what will she will be against today. #3 Kitty Boom Boom has been working great for a state bred filly. Throw in Smith and you could have a winner.

Race 3) #5 Smart Rachel’s past performances make it hard to envision a scenario where she doesn’t cross the wire first. Wouldn’t be surprised if this filly gives Essen Flores his third win of the season.

Race 4) #4 Ostini under a good lay-off trainer in Eric Kruljac should have no issue hanging on today against a sub par group. #1  Bouncing Around poses an interesting opportunity as a long shot. This gelding gets back to what seems to be a preferred surface this son of Suances looks fit as ever for Friday’s race.

Race 5) #3 Purdue may be wearing blue today but don’t expect this filly to take it to heart. Another question mark in the early Pick 5 sequence that I wouldn’t be surprised to see cross the wire first.

Race 6) #1 Grazeninamerica looks like he will ROMP this field. Drop in class and back to fast and firm, this gelding should get the job doneee!

Race 7) #7 Gypsy Blue loved her one run on turf and I don’t see a reason why she won’t repeat that running style on the grass today. #3 Moonshine Annie has downhill experience which usually translates fantastically here at Santa Anita. Don’t toss. #1 Charmingslew leaves me a little bit puzzled but this filly has been turning it up lately. Let’s see what she will do.

Race 8) #2 Mr Paytience put up a huge number while swinging five wide with Doug O’Neil doing the training. Looks like a single to me. Only other to watch out for would be #4 Scouted.

Race 9) #2 Cupid’s Claws shows just the closing kick we want to see here at a mile. Another Talamo pick for me but he could have a good day.

Good luck to all!!
