2nd: 6-3-5
Angel’s Cut faced better in Churchill Downs debut. The 8-1 morning line is overly generous.
Miss Larissa broke slowly in her debut from an outside post on a day the rail was strong.
Franki D Oro makes Oaklawn debut for trainer Randy Morse, who is due for some good luck this meet with just one win and 10 place finishes.
3rd: 9-3-11
Data Gold’s best races have been on turf, but I prefer him to the other two horses likely to show early speed, Collection and Intimidating.
Knight Errant and Dream Baby Dream are contenders to pick up the pieces, but both have poor winning percentages.
4th: 5-2-6
Holdthatlove has a short mid-meet layoff with a series of good 5 furlong works. Trainer Lynn Chleborad better than 1 for 55 record suggests. Could benefit from a bit slower early pace than she has been facing.
Mostly Awesome couldn’t keep up with $2 million purchase Awe Emma last time and fits better with these.
Infuse, likewise, had little chance against Shanghai Tariff last out. She has only won two races lifetime, as has morning-line favorite Seeds of Time. The conditions of this race favor multiple winners IMHO.
5th: 12-4-9
Presley dueled from the lead on the inside on a day the winners were closing on the outside.
Tapit Right does not look impressive at first blush but exits the tough Oochie race and gets a weight break with apprentice Keisi Haar who has won twice at the meet.
Firm Alexis will get action, but her awkward breaks so far give her a lot to do to catch up.
6th: 5-2-11
Racey Reecey will be far back early but can close with a rush versus these in a return to a one-turn race.
Valiant Lady is speed on the rail.
J P”s Gladys must overcome difficult post but has outrun her odds at Oaklawn this year.
7th: 9-2-12
Millwood dropped out early versus better at Keeneland. Adds Lasix, subtracts male equipment.
Gowdy ran well in his debut.
Impressed has good workouts, and is modestly enough bred that Asmussen unveiling him for a $30,000 tag is not a red flag.
8th: 2-3-7
Ms Fifty First St. should be forwardly placed throughout in a field without much early zip.
Euro Me, along with several others in this field, was overmatched last out by Bye Bye J.
Fastanista also faced Bye Bye J and switches to hot rider Tyler Baze.
9th: 3-1-8
Slick Silver’s foray into the claiming ranks at Saratoga will throw some bettors off. He was 3/5 in his only Oaklawn race last year.
Loopallu didn’t have the most comfortable trip between horses, gets rail today.
Tut’s Revenge faced a good one last time in Landeskog
