RACE 1
2 SHE’S GOT PIZAZZ simply got a no try around the oval last week after missing racing since December 17th, she trotted the back half in 56:4 and should be put into play a bit early on today from the inside post, live at a big price
3 PERFETTO was left too much to do last week but is in good form, and would be no surprise
1 MONOPOLY failed to finish the job as the chalk on the class hike last week, draws well, inside speed
4 QUADRANGLE has been sharp for a while now but last time had to be the time at those odds
9 HEY LIVVY was 10-1 last week and wins with any sort of steer but after leaving for position refused to leave the cones and got backed up into by 33-1 longshot, and was left badly shuffled approaching 3 quarters, and he’ll be grossly overbet tonight
BOTTOM LINE these all return from last weeks win by 4 QUADRANGLE, the 9 HEY LIVVY is the one you want at anything close to the ML, but any shorter you should play against, the other 3 favorites all have similar chances, and 2 can light up the exotics if he sneaks into them
BET 9 HEY LIVY AT 5-1 OR MORE
RACE 2
3 LET’S HAVE ANOTHER won one of those races where you couldn’t see anything, and it seemed rather convincing sitting off the speeds and running them down in the lane, probably a legit favorite in this spot
7 DREAMFAIR CHARRO is the one I’m interested in but I’d need more than the 9-2 suggested on the ML, if he’s in the 6 or 7-1 range, he becomes interesting enough to give a shot to
BOTTOM LINE: Many of these have had chances, the 3 just looks logical to take another step forward, the 7 has had issues, but hints at ability, IF the price is right
RACE 3
1 LONE WOLF TERROR steps up or an 0-20 on the year trainer, prefer others esp at a number like 4 or shorter
2 PRINCE GIOVANNI tried the same jump and has hit the ticket but never looked a winner in his last two, use under only as he can maybe work out a similar trip to last week
6 JIMMY BE GOOD was dragged back to last and still way to good or these, expect more of the same at an even shorter price 2ND time for Moreau
BOTTOM LINE: CHALKFEST SINGLE THE 6
RACE 4
I HAVE NO IDEA, SPREAD RACE
RACE 5
2 HEAD TURNING JAG has simply run out of chances, but once again looks the one to beat
10 MAGIC NIGHT took some $$ last week and secured the pocket spot, but was left shuffled and never really had room to trot until late in the mile, combine that with he probably needed the race given it was his first start of the year, perhaps tonight he’s live? We’ll know early, if he leaves from this spot
9 PARKHILL NONSTOP will be a big overlay bc of the post, but perhaps he gets him involved too?
7 AZUCAR had the winner come off his back late last week after being left to grind first over when the runner-up cleared, and this one simply faded, but he did miss a week + prior to that start and could be more fit tonight
BOTTOM LINE IS 2 HEAD TURNING JAG JUST KEEPS BURNING MONEY, SO YOU HAVE TO TAKE A SHOT AGAINST
10 MAGIC NIGHT AT 10-1 OR MORE
RACE 6
3 LEVY TAYLORE was really good on Wednesday, and a repeat of that mile would make him the one to beat, but the price is gone
8 CROCODILE CANYON gets class relief and adds Henry, who drove the 3 on Wednesday, but the post doesn’t help his cause
5 REIKI gets a driver change back to Roy, I wonder if he’s put into play early on
BOTTOM LINE: Chalky appearance, unless you have something clever
RACE 7
5 BAUTISTA is my BEST BET of the night, a useful much needed race last week and now finds a perfect post to get more involved, he’ll trot both ends of the mile and hopefully find the winner’s circle at a nice price, or Filion will find traffic trouble and get him beat, tonight’s the night
BOTTOM LINE: Underneath you can use just about anyone given the right price, 7 MANOFMANYIMAGGES on the drop back down to a winning level, the 10 MAJOR MUSCLE 2nd off the mini layoff, post 10 should help the price. Obviously the 1 and 3 can hit the ticket as well, but hopefully not 2nd and 3rd.
RACE 8
5 B YOYO was powerful last week and should be in line for another good trip tonight from a good post, tough to overlook, especially if not favored again, we’ll see though
6 PL JILL had no excuse from the trip last week but perhaps was a bit short being of since Jan 14th, no excuses tonight though
7 DANCER HALL tried first over from 4th into a slow middle half and consequently was just even late to stay on for 4th, a better trip tonight could make her a bigger player tonight, and a decent price
BOTTOM LINE: 7 DANCE HALL can win for sure with the right trip, and should be more fit tonight, the better price of the 3 main contenders is good enough for me
RACE 9
2 SHADOW MARGEAUX kicked home last week in what was presumably supposed to be a trip around the track after the miscue just 4 days before, I wouldn’t bet at a short price, but logical
3 OLLIESTRIKESFAME should be a bigger price and I would prefer him to the 2, they had similar trips last week and this one figures to be the bigger price
4 SURPRISE HANOVER got free late last week to sneak into the super at big odds, could do that again for sure
6 SOME PLAYA has to be the one you play against, he’s never looked comfortable over this track and while class matters, I prefer to play against at a short price
8 AMERICAN MUSIC is the wild card on the drop from post 8, can he get involved from this spot? Finished well ahead of the favorite on February 9th, value at the suggest 6-1 ML which could be close come post time
BOTTOM LINE: THE 3 AND 8 WILL BE BETTER PRICES THAN 2 AND 6 WITH SIMILAR CHANCES TO WIN
RACE 10
6 APRIL ROSE drops out of the Preferred, and finds a level that she hasn’t seen in some time and from the middle of the gate should be on the engine, in fact, the last time she was at this level, was October 9th, where she won from the 9 hole and paid $20 in gate to wire fashion, she should beat these on the engine, and $10 is fair enough. Let’s see what happens.
