Lone Star Park Racing Analysis — Monday, August 3, 2020, by Mike Northcut

Race 1:  MSW – 5f TURF

my picks:   5-2-4

5-Gracely  An 0-11 maiden, who’s been close several times. Shortens back up & gets Lil’ Luz to ride graduation day

2-Shiningdownondalis  Trainer/owner Tracey Glover having a solid meet 13-4-2-0. Unveils this son of Palace today with some really good works, watch the tote.

4-Comic  Trained by Asmussen first time on the green. Has good speed and ridden by Keith.

race 2:   $12,500MDN CLM  7f DIRT

my picks:   7-8-5

7-End Zone  A Broberg trainee, dropping down today has good speed it’s either today or never.

8-Starzip   Asmussen going from turf to dirt & into claimers for the first time.

5-Tapalist  Another one trained by Asmussen ridden by Keith & dropping into claimers for the first time.

race 3:   MSW   1 mile DIRT

my picks:   3-5-7

3-Caged Bear  Going turf to dirt, will be a price. Not much to beat in here.

5-Better Biz  Another one going turf to dirt, shipping in from CD. Morning line of 8/5, has some speed but a very beatable favorite.

7-Amazing Ride Third off the lay-off for the Asmussens. Going turf to dirt.

race 4:   MDN $6,250   5.5 DIRT

my picks:   8-1-7

8-Taino House   Diodoro brings this one in from CD. Dropping some, outside speed will be a short price but we take what they give us.

1-Katama Bay   turf to dirt for Asmussen and has inside speed. Will make it tough on the 8.

7-K D Street  Trained by Broberg, dropping in company. Second lifetime start, could pick up the pieces.

race 5:   $15,000 CLM  5f TURF

my picks:    5-3-7

5-Gold Speed Go   **best bet**   First time in claiming company, wasn’t disgraced first time at Lone Star. Should mow them down late with Lil’ Luz.

3-Jager on the Rocks   another one dropping in class, will be on the engine.

7-Sournois  Hard to endorse to win 1-21 lifetime and 9-0-0-3 on the turf. Still, he will be a nice price to round out your triple or superfecta.

PK5:

5:    3,5

6:    4,7,8

7:    2,5

8:    4,9,10

9:     1,6

$72 for $1

race 6:   TX Bred MSW   5.5f DIRT

my picks:    8-4-7

8-Bling’s Bellwether   JR Caldwell sends out this son of Too Much Bling. Not too often you see a 2yo making his first start while being gelded. He’ll be on the engine.

4-Oh Snap   Diodoro sends out a son of Mr Besilu improving works. The board will tell you the story.

7-Carbon Stryker   Broberg thought enough of him to make his first start a stakes race. Another 2yo gelding, raced greenly & didn’t switch leads down the stretch

PK4:

6:    4,7,8

7:    2,5

8:    4,9,10

9:    1,6

$72 for $2

race 7:   $5,000 claiming  6.5f  DIRT

my picks:   2-5-1

2-Senor Blair   came up a nose short last race at .60 to a $1 over a wet surface. 4-2-1-0 at the distance first time at Lone Star, scores at 4/1 or higher.

5-Kats Second Silver Likes LSP 11-2-5-2. Came up short at .20 to a $1 last race, first time running for JR Caldwell.

1-entry Broberg Sends out a entry for M & M racing, I feel the straight 1 is the better half, but is 7-0-1-2 at the distance.

race 8:   $15,000 claiming  1 1/16th TURF

my picks:   4-10-9

4-Vaporman  Is 3-0-3-0 on the turf. Missed by 1/2 length as the favorite last start. Has finished second last three starts.

10-Lawless West Hard knocking 8yo gelding, usually around for a piece. If he wasn’t breaking from post 10 he’d have been my to choice.

9-Matrooh  Trained by Diodoro and brings speed to this party, will take them to the top of the stretch.

race 9:  TX Bred MSW   6.5f DIRT

my picks:   6-1

6-Witt’s Coco  Big effort first time out just missed at 30.80/1. Expect a winners circle picture today

1-Darylslittlediablo  Going turf to dirt here. He will save all the ground & if my top choice falters, then he will pick up the pieces.
