Laurel Racing Analysis- Friday June 14 2019- By Andy Fetterhoff

Laurel Park 6/14/19

10 races today.

Watch the boards and the pools – to get the best prices. Good Luck!

Race 1, 5F, 2YO

Picks: 6, 5, 7, 2

Young horses to start the day.  I’m going to stick with jockey/trainer combos and pedigree to take a shot. I don’t like short prices here so I’ll stick on the (2) Ain’t None Lucky and the (1) Ankle Monitor as price plays to win.

Race 2, 5 1/2, Turf, 3YO+

Picks: 8, 3, 5, 4

Amelia’s Wild Ride (8), should be the favorite here, off a brief freshening. Tale of E Dubai (3) offers value for Ness/McCarthy and is poised for a good effort. Grandiflora (5) and (4) Triple Burner round out the top four. Based on last outs and even with a class drop, I’m not buying either of these to win, but I do like them underneath..

Race 3, 5 1/2, 3YO+

Picks: 1, 5, 3, 4

Down in Front (1) has to draw attention and not be left out. Diva’s Dream (5)  I suspect will be bet down by post and looks to be a co-favorite with End Result (3) had an decent try last out  on SY surface and should improve. Epic Idea (4) with a good effort could and McCarthy in the irons should also be in the mix.

Race 4, 5 1/2F,Turf,  3YO+

Picks: 9, 3, 8, 11

Jagger Baby (9) should be best here with Petticoatsnpistols (3) sharp on her heels. Both are right for the class and distance. Blue Sky Venezuela (8) and Irish Fix (11) both need to improve off the last outing and figure to be the early leaders – can they hold on for the win?

Race 5, 5 1/2F, 3YO+

Picks: 3, 6, 7, 1a

Took Over (3) is likely best in this claimer. Concordia’s Way (6) should be a pretty straight exacta. Dr. Cerrato (7) and Moneymeister (1a) should be able to complete the trifecta. This should be a good race to play.

Race 6, 5 1/2F, Turf, 3YO+

Picks: 6, 11, 9, 3

Perfect Exchange (6) is coming off a loss and JUMPS in class here. I think we can get a price and with a good effort an upset. Nightmare (11) gets a little class relief and with an improved effort should hit the board. Determined Mission (9) is spot on for the class and distance – off a 7 length victory last out. Brenda’s G L P (3) rounds out the top 4. A disappointing last out but the connections are good and you can expect an improved effort.

Race 7, 1M, 3YO+

Picks: 4, 7, 2, 1

Scatrattleandroll (4) had an excellent effort last out and should be a near favorite. The (7) Beyond Forever should be right at home in here and could even rally for the lead. Hell of Afire (2) and Malibu Surprise (3) round out my top four here, both suit the class and the distance but will likely need more for the win. This is a pretty wide open race and we’ll either get prices or everyone is going to be bet down.

Race 8, 7F, 3YO+

Picks: 9, 2, 8, 5

I’m going to take Awesome Agenda (9) for value over the ML favorite Star Hawk (2) even with the class drop. The Mason Factor (8) had a good effort last out and suits the class and distance well. Iron Lion (5) ran strong last out but just faced better competition, with a little class relief and a better distance – may well be a factor here.

Race 9, 1M, Turf, 3YO+

Picks: 5, 3, 7, 9

Minister’s Strike (5) comes in off two wins and should add another here today. Enough is Enough (3) looks to improve and be in the mix. Done Acting (7) and Sir Brahms (9) find themselves right where they belong and should offer value on a good wagering race. The exacta and trifecta are definitely in play here.

Race 10, 1 1/16M, Turf, 3YO+

Picks: 1, 5, 6, 11

Electro (1) has had two excellent efforts and should continue that trend. Affluential (5) needs to improve – with an excellent trip could best this field. Uhwarrie Sky (6) has had a solid outing the last out off a layoff.  America’s Prince (11) rounds out the board with a decent last efforts, but against better company – will need to improve to win.
