Gulfstream Park Racing Analysis — Sunday, February 10, 2019, by Rob Harding

“A” Plays:

Race 3: #4 W.W. Concerto 9-5 ML

Race 10: #7 Jupiter Rising 5-1 ML

Race 12: #6 Mine the Coin 3-1 ML

Race 1:

#9 False Accusation 15-1 ML

#5 Arpinella 7-2 ML

#6 Family Kitten 5-2 ML

#9 False Accusation battled with a familiar foe in #6 Family Kitten last time out, outfinished that one while dueling on the lead and is 15-1 compared to 5-2 for the #6. Good value.

Race 2:

#5 My SebastianA 10-1 ML

#6 One Classy Lady 12-1 ML

#4 Baby Squall 9-5 ML

#5 My SebastianA was much improved on the slight drop and cutback in distance and doesnt need to do much more than the recent effort to beat these.

Race 3:

#4 WW Concerto 9-5 ML

#3 Dreamy Martini 8-1 ML

#1 Somedreamscometrue 10-1 ML

Controlling speed off the claim for Navarro looks tough to beat here.

Race 4:

#7 Luckytobeinamerica 7-2 ML

#4 Listen to the Lion 20-1 ML

#5 Queens Bird 2-1 ML

#7 Luckytobeinamerica drops and cuts back, and should put forth a good effort based on the two back effort going 7. I am intrigued by the Bates horse at 20-1 ML, who takes a big drop in class and trainer is 18% 2nd time out.

Race 5:

#6 Orra Moor 5-2 ML

#2 Break Curfew 2-1 ML

#1 Brucia La Terra 3-1 ML

Its a true coin flip between the #6 and the #2 in here, their best running lines virtually identical. I’ll give the slight nod to the Pletcher horse based on the win over the track and the recent worktab after the win in December.

Race 6:

#2 Tamit 7-2 ML

#7 Underestimate 6-1 ML

#4 Ferdinanda 6-5 ML

This is a fun race. First off, I have been on #4 Ferdinanda going back to last March when she lost by a dirty nose at 11-1. Since then, shes knocked at the door, but the bottom line is the horse just does not win. 6-5 is a nutty price. I had some really high hopes for #2 Tamit, and they never quite materialized, but returns off a brief freshening last time and was wide while making a run before tiring. Norm Casse does very well 2nd off the bench from limited numbers (5 for 11). With this being said, #7 Underestimate is a VERY big threat to take them gate to wire with very little other speed signed on if he takes to the turf, which is highly likely by Broken Vow and out of a Hard Spun mare.

Race 7:

#2 Ry’s the Guy 6-1 ML

#10 Growth Engine 9-5 ML

#9 Going for Gold 9-2 ML

#2 Ry’s the Guy took alot of money first time out for Wilkes and should very much appreciate the stretch out today.

Race 8:

#12 Royalty Salvatore 6-1 ML

#2 Salambo 6-1 ML

#1 Black Pepper 6-5 ML

Of the droppers, #12 Royalty Salvatore has the best recent form, and should be able to show enough speed to avoid being hung out terribly wide.

Race 9:

#12 Rochambeau 12-1 ML

#7 Readyforprimetime 4-1 ML

#1 Skychief 3-1 ML

#12 Rochambeau encountered some issues in the debut, and will need to deal with a trying outside post, but lures JV and has the breeding to be a good one.

Race 10:

#7 Jupiter Rising 5-1 ML

#6 Get the Facts 7-2 ML

#1 National Honor 6-1 ML

#7 Jupiter Rising dueled on the drop to this level last time, and still held together to finish a good 3rd. There is no speed outside of a possibly brief threat from longshot #9 Brag Dude in here. Hoping Saez goes right to the lead if the #9 doesnt go or sits right off the cheap speed before drawing off to win.

Race 11:

#4 Splicethemainbrace 4-1 ML

#8 The Right Path 7-2 ML

#7 Outshine 5-1 ML

#4 Splicethemainbrace tussled with Call Paul two back at Parx, and ran a good 2nd in the Limehouse last time out locally. Should track the early leaders and get first run on the deeper closers.

Race 12:

#6 Mine the Coin 3-1 ML

#11 Oso Negro 4-1 ML

#5 Betterment 6-1 ML

#6 Mine the Coin was defeated by Haikal last out, who came back to win a stake at Aqueduct on Saturday. 300k purchase switches to turf today.
