Race 1
6-5-3
#6 Two Fifty Coup: I just couldn’t pick a favorite in this race so I ended up on this son of Congrats, There’s a couple of 1-20’s in this race that I try and avoid. He ran a nice third LTO against open 25K claimers whereas most of this group has been facing conditioned claimers. The layoff is a bit of a scare but most 3-year-olds are completely different maturity and build wise now compared to when he last raced in January.
#5 Into a Hot Spot: Ugh the favorite I just don’t know if there is much else in this race. Since the claim for trainer Jeff Mullins he has gotten one good start which was two back a good third losing to a red hot horse named Union Ride who has won for 50K twice since that race. He is dropping in class and if he runs back to that good race two back it would make him difficult.
Race 2
1-4
#1 Curlin rules: sometimes in these late-year optional claiming races people forget about these horses who are older and have already won the condition which this oen did 2 years ago. Yes he was life and death to beat 40K but if they go right back in the same spot the horse for sure gets claimed I like the jump and I believe with the short field this horse will have an advantage from the rail.
#4 Jalen Journey: Dropping out of graded stakes for Peter Miller sounds like a low priced favorite and that’s what we have here the last time he was in a race like this he won by 5+ at Gulfstream Park in May with a mid 90 Beyer. Def the most likely winner but 8-5 is a bit short to me and this horse will def be lower on race day.
Race 3
5-6-4
#5 Zipper Mischief: The last 4 races have been all over the Beyer Par and we like to see that with consistent horses. He will show speed like others in here the outside post will allow for a clear racing spot in the clear.
#6 Young Hendrick: the last time this horse went turf to dirt he ran his best career race. Now the same angle shows itself again you probably won’t get the same price like last time but tRainer Phil D’Amato has always been one of my favorite turf trainers.
Race 4
2-6
#2 Western Flyer: Not much to go on in this bottom feeder maiden route. if this 3-year-old can improve like normal second-time starters he poses a big threat at big odds to the favorite. He was already part of a faster division of races at this level in his debut and has a great work coming out of this race I expect improvement and a solid showing to at least hit the board and use on top and reversed with our second choice in exactas.
#6 Brazilian Summer: This 3-1 M/L fav has the one big last out race to go off of and hate taking horses only showing the one race that fits ok within a race let price be your guide. Trainer Matthew Chew isn’t the best off the layoff either seems there may be enough holes to try and find an alternative.
Race 5
8-5-1
Race 6
7-1-6
#7 Parkour: 2nd time out with a 2nd in debut to me is one of the best maiden angles due to the improvement second time out is usually 8-13 Beyer points. the Beyer Par for this race is a 75-70 with improvement this horse is the only one that fits the Beyer Par, she also gets a positive jock switch from Velez to Drayden Van Dyke.
#1 Mundaye Call: Definitely the class of the field having just faced some BC foes last out in the G1 Spinaway. She should have no problem getting the lead since she blazed fast fractions LTO and she also has the rail. Her debut seemed like a decent key race with 4 of 6 next time out hitting the exacta with 2 next time out winners.
Race 7
5-3-8
Race 8
3-6-2
#3 Thousand words: Awesome debut rated well behind a fast early pace it’s always nice when you have a 2-year old that can pass horses. at 7-5 on the morning line and likely to go lower the price is what might stop people from playing this colt.
#6 Strongconstitution: Just a neck away from being 2-2 just missing by a neck against the talented G2 stake placed Foreleft. Constitution has been an amazing freshman sire with many graded stake winners. He improved second time out in a Restricted stake and had a great work since then
#2Howbeit: Only two-time winner in the race he won an optional 40K claimer LTO under new trainer Doug O’Neil. he needs to get faster on the Beyer scale to challenge the top two. I’m looking for this one to possible spice up the verticals underneath.
Race 9
