Churchill Downs Racing Analysis- Thursday June 20 2019- By Shawn Murphy

Here we go with another Thursday night at Churchill as a season where is down and looking for some key players for this evening.

Race 1

6-9-8

6- Bubba Bling- this Asmussen colt starts out in a maiden claiming race are the trainer bats a nice 24%. Has been working very well for this first start and the trainer jockey combination is done very well at this meet.

9- Majestic johns- I was very close to choosing this is my top pic as trainer Ortiz hits with an amazing 67% two out of three in debuting in maiden claiming race. I like the starting position and I like some of the works that he has posted. The reason I didn’t put them on top is the chemo in September yearling purchased was only $2000.

8- Don’thatetheplayer – both Casse and Leparoux have been on fire over the last little while, this colt has had some nice works and watch the totalboard for clues.

Race 2

7-5-3

7- Street Trust- I see a lot of cheap early speed in this race and I feel that this guy can duplicate his last race or the race March 17 and pass the dying speed late.

5- Mineyerownmalone- another that should be picking up the pieces down the lane. This guys been racing well for a long time and always seems to get a piece I like the fact that you can sit just off the pace and continue to progress down the lane. Has great starts at Churchhill and amazing stats at the distance.

3- Pear lemonade – yet another table so just off the pace and should be able to pounce on the slowing speed. Like the fact that he ran well last time with the same jockey a little higher class and most importantly with blinkers.

Race 3

4-5-8

4- A Man called Boady- it took a while for me to find this horse but I like the fact that it came back off a long layoff and raced very well. His last two races were quite good after having four in a row that we’re pretty poor. You should be able to dismiss that first race on dirt as this horse is obviously much better than he was in that outing.

5- overanalyze fake news- I see some nice angles here and willing to take a shot as blinkers go on for a trainer that has done very well hitting over 32% with this move. Watch the tote board for action.

8- Rage Away – drops back down to a class worries done well and most recently on May 10 had a nice run at this level.

Race 4

7-6-8

7- Moms Pass- racist well in her first outing and just missed after leading all the way. Nice speed figure for first time out and runs for a trainer that hits a 20% second time out. Took a lot of money that first race and will probably do the same today.

6- Fly so pretty- lots to like here with the trainer and the breeding is this girl loves the turf and the distance. Trainer Casse has been a fan of rider Carroll and gives him the leg up here.

8- Yellen- trainer ward will have this Filly ready to roll from the outside. Another one to watch the total board early to see what kind of action she is taking.

Race 5

6-2-8

6- Tikhvin Flew- I love his last race at Oaklawn with first time blinkers. He was rated well and made a nice bed only to come short at the wire. It’s noted that in that race there is five links back to the third-place finisher.

2- Mississippi- i’ve picked this guy a few times in the past and he always seems to come up a little short. I had him pretty good last race I thought he was the winner as he never gave up but could only come within a half length of the winner.

8- The Rock Says- has only three races but they’ve always been good ones. Nice race over the slop last outing at Churchill with first time front bandages in the same jock.

Race 6

10-5-6

10- Irish mischief – I like this girl from the outside has never really run a bad race and gets back to a distance where I feel she will excel. I like the idea of blinkers here and some nice works after a mid length layoff.

5- Shanghai rain. – The last three races a good odds with blinkers have all been quality. You should get nice sides on her in the distance will serve her well.

6- Hallawallah- that first race was a bomb for this $200,000 two-year-old purchase. You have to be real good to double that up against some quality horses.

Race 7

8-9-10

8- Devamani- four out of five of his races in the US have been great. Has won two in a row with great speed figures and I see this guy tripling up.

9- Bourbon resolution- his loan rates on the turf was quite good as he Ran in the wise Dan a G2 with some stiff competition. Should do much better against easier.

10- Ezmosh – trainer Sharpe Took this guy over for the last race and had one of his best races to date with a very nice speed figure. I could see this guy getting out to an early lead and setting the pace.

Race 8

7-8-11

7- Sevennotrump- does not look great on paper as he has had three miserable races leading up to this finale tonight. Gets blinkers it’s a big drop-down and has some nice works leading into this last ditch effort to get a win.

8- Alpha to omega. – another in here with a very strange past. Comes in half an 18 month layoff for trainer maker. I like the drop-down and I really like the works leading into this. The tote board will tell a story.

12- Midland – another big drop down here looking for the first win. Really nice race off to lay off and should do well in the finale tonight.
