This is a closing card that has a lot a value spread throughout. Thank you to anyone who has read our column, it has been a lot of fun.
Race 1: 8 2
Race 2: 6 3 2
Race 3: 6 9 1
Race4: 4 2
Race 5: 10 3
Race 6: 5 2 11
Race 7: 4 2 1
Race 8: 8 6 4
Race 9: 3 8 11
Race 10: 8 3 1
Race 11: 1 6 10
Race 12: 8 2 1
Race 1: 8 Mo’s Song (7-2)To kick this closing card off, we have a group of maidens who all come in with experience and very little to show for it on the dirt. If the inside is strong like it has appeared to been Edgar Morales could walk the dog on the front end with 2 Esther Rising and take them to the wire, she offers very strong value at 8-1 on the morning line. I am hoping Corey sits on the flank of the 2 with 8 Mo’s Song and go past on the 8th pole and win this opening up on this group, Kenneally excels second out.
Race 3: 6 Shyla (10-1)This race with basement claimers is all that it is lived up to be… this race looks like an all-out crap shoot. I respect 9 Valiant Lady for Ingrid Mason who broke her maiden over this track She comes in off a strong effort. But I want to give Shyla one last chance to put it all together, she gets a cut back in distance and I am hoping she is rounding into form and at her best distance. This combo hits at a %27 clip together!
Race 8: 8 Time on Target (10-1) this race looks to be lacking a strong pace. The 3 horse Valdocco looks to be the front runner early off a long layoff. But I am dubious of is this horse is fit for the challenge. The 8 Time on Target had his best race at 6F, over this track ad with Leparoux. They tried him on the grass and all weather he just did not seem to take to either. They gave him a freshening since September and he carries a strong work tab in the mornings. It is not promising that he is in for a tag versus older, but there is not a lot to fall in love with here.
Race 10: 8 Sisters Nation (5-1) Play of the day This is a strong field and there are many opinions to take. I will be playing against the 7 Happy Like a Fool heavily and she is going to be over bet from her last race in the Breeders Cup which will look dressed up. There is a lot of horses who like to plot, leaving the 1 Mines and Magic the lead to himself. He is a threat here. I am most interested in is the 8 Sister Nation who runs his second race for the Asmussen barn, she closed strongly in his first try over the dirt surface at Keeneland to be 3rd. She looks to be sitting on a huge effort with a .59 bullet November 12th. The horse is sitting on a peak effort and this price would be generous!
Race 12: 8 New Roo (7-2) His first race was extremely encouraging as Tom Drury hits at a %31 clip with maidens second out. This horse fought down the lane to be a close second. Drury does not have the strongest numbers with young horses, but when he stretches his horse to a route of ground he hits at a %43 clip. She gets Corey Lanerie aboard and he has success with the small barn. There are enough things to like here that it may be too good to be true, but I am expecting a huge effort from this gal!
