Hello, all and we are back at beautiful Belmont Park for another week of racing! We have been hot the past two weeks, doubling up in both weeks after a goose egg to start the meet. Note that all 3 turf races today are sprints, and I have hit more on top winners with these turf sprint races since Saratoga than any other races, just over 40%. Today we will try and keep that form rolling and continue the winning ways, best of luck to all playing!
Race 1: 8-1-7
#8 PARADISE PRIDE hasn’t shown too much but we have a slight class drop for this race and we see some very solid trainer percentages. 21% jockey/trainer combo, 22% with 2 year olds and from maiden special weights to claimers. We get 8/1 ML for those percentages and Joel Rosario up plus a bullet in this colts most recent work.
Race 2: 5-1-7
#5 CANARSIE ANGEL is the only horse in this field that has run a race on the grass and that race was a decent showing. She bobbled at the started and made a decent bid. Kendrick is back up today and for 6/1 ML it’s nice to have a runner with experience here on the grass.
Race 3: 4-2-1
#4 ALWAYS FORGIVEN has some very appealing workouts since his last race and also some early speed which we don’t see too much of here. Luis is up here today and he’s 21% for the meet, Joe Sharp is 31% with a $2.08 ROI in first off the claim dirt runners over the past 5 years and 21% with Saez this meet. This colt is 1 for 1 at the distance and has some good collective Beyer’s.
Race 4: 5-12-11
#5 NOBLE JEWEL is interesting here as we don’t see amazing races in turf routes back here in Saratoga, however we do see a victory over this same turf course at this same distance in this filly’s lone turf sprint. Joel was aboard that day, the trainer is 18% going route to sprint and 3 for 6 when putting his horses up for sale less than 68 days back.
Race 5: 5-1-4
#5 LOOKBOTHWAYS has some good runes and is 6 for 8 ITM lifetime. 4 for 5 ITM lifetime here over this Belmont oval and has a nice run here in September and Lezcano is climbing back on. This race is kind of stinky but those stats with early speed and being a consistent runner at this level? We will go for her at 3/1 ML.
Race 6: 5-7-6
#5 KERRY’S RING has never finished over 1 1/4 lengths back in her 4 career races. Trainer is 30% in route to sprints, 22% in sprints. We see two seconds over this same Belmont turf course in solid maiden races and those races were her highest Beyer’s. Add in the fact she has some tactical speed and closing kick plus a good race at this distance, she’s the one to choose here.
Race 7: 1-7-6
#1 AMERICAN TATTOO is interesting here 1 for 1 here at Belmont and that race was at this distance as well. hat race gave him an 88 Beyer which is fantastic and Jose was up that day as well. He is getting a nice class drop here and it looks like he won’t get a lot of pressure on the lead and if he sets soft fractions, he’s away.
Race 8: 2-1-9
#2 ALEPH is staying at the same level after a decent showing Beyer-wise first time out. We see a nice bullet workout here at Belmont last week and we have Kendrick near the rail with speed which is my favorite. There shouldn’t be a whole lot of pace pressure and Kendrick should have an easy time getting to the rail from that 2 post. He could steal this finale at a nice price if he doesn’t get a lot of pace pressure with some unproven and unraced maidens.
