Aqueduct racing Analysis-Thursday Dec 19 2019- By Ed Piluso

R1: 5-1/1A-4

#5 SNEADS just missed last time out and had a very solid collection of Beyer’s. Ran 2nd in his lone try here at the Big A last time out. Race could set up well for him.

R2: 6-1-4

#6 APPRECIATE is dropping to her lowest career level today. We see a collection of Beyer’s much higher on average than the rest of this field. Jockey/Trainer is 17% at Aqueduct as well.

R3: 7-4-6

#7 BOBBYFROMTHEPALM ran a very solid race at a slightly higher level last time out. Manny Franco jumps back up here and this gelding second try at this distance could yield a better finish than 3rd last time out.

R4: 7-2-1

#7 LETMETAKETHISCALL is at a decent price of 7/2 considering the jockey trainer is 35% this year and 43% at Aqueduct. We get Lezcano up who has been very good here at aqueduct and is one of the few premier riders left. Lastly, we see a very good collection of Beyer’s and this filly looks good to go!

R5: 6-4-5

#6 BLUES CITY is coming off of a maiden breaking win here at the big A and an all time high Beyer. The collection of Beyer’s this colt has are decent compared to the field, and we get Lezcano up again. Another outside post shouldn’t hurt after that last showing.

R6: 4-7-2

#4 AM IMPAZIBLE is coming off a win here at the Big A going 4 wide after sitting off a slow pace and still won. Eric Cancel jumps back up today and carries a 30% jockey/train stat at aqueduct and a 24% overall this year. Trainer stats are all very solid as well and she should get a good trip sitting just off the pace.

R7: 6-7-1

#6 ARTHUR’S HOPE is dropping down in class here after coming off some honest enough performances in ungraded stakes. The last time he ran in a race similar to this level we see a triple digit Beyer figure. Lastly he is 6/8 ITM at this distance and should be a tough competitor. Second choice is very live too, I will play both!

R8: 8-4-2

#8 I’M FINE is not only my favorite name on the card but also a horse I feel can do some damage here. Trainer is 24% going turf to dirt, and this filly has already run at the mile distance. She finished a strong 3rd on the grass in her first ever start but the surface switch here looks good. Not to mention the 27% jockey/trainee stat for the year!
