Race 1- 8,2,4
Hot Sriracha has been a beaten favorite in his last 2, but he is adding blinkers today which I think will make a huge difference. Gutierrez is back in the irons today which I like to see and Englehart is 20 % this year with blinkers on his horses.
Broker’s Reward is a first time starter for Michael Trombetta and gets Manny Franco in the irons who is finishing in the money nearly 68% of the time this meet. He has been working out a Laurel and Trombetta is 50% in the money this meet with his starts so far at Big A.
Racing Raven has run the same race in all 5 career starts. Personally I don’t think it is good enough to beat this group, but it would not shock me if he rounds out the exacta or trifecta.
Race 2- 3,4,7
Letmetakethiscall is coming back off an 8 month layoff, but if she returns to her form from March of 2018 she will be tough to beat here. She has the jockey trainer combo of Franco/Rudy who at Aqueduct in the past year is 30% with 56 starts. She is also 2-2 in her career at Aqueduct.
Fair Regis always runs tough at this company and this distance. She is 10-5-3-1 in her career at 6f and her last 2 races at this level have been narrow defeats. She is the low weight today with Gutierrez in the irons which I like. I will use her on my tickets, but she is 0-4 since winning at Saratoga in August, so I couldn’t put her on top today.
My Roxy Girl is camera shy at this distance, but she loves Aqueduct. Lifetime she is 12-0-5-2 at this distance, but all 4 of her career wins have come at Big A, the latest one being on November 3rd 2018. I think she is too dangerous to leave off multi race tickets here, but I will try and beat her with the win ticket.
Race 4- 2
Last race I thought Mrs Vargas could not possibly ever face a softer field, but here we are today. Manny took her 5 wide last time and it cost her, today I hope he keeps her inside and if he does she should prove to be much the best today. She is my single on my early Pick 4 and 5.
Race 5 – 8,6,5
Arewehavingfunyet has just missed at this distance against tougher in her last 2. The now 7 year old is 16-4-4-2 lifetime at the distance and has 3 career wins over the Aqueduct main track.
Havana Affair has early speed and if no one goes with her early she is a threat to go gate to wire. 2 of her 3 career wins have come here at Aqueduct and all 3 career wins are at this 1 mile distance.
Driven by Speed is adding blinkers today for Rude Rodriguez and these are the type of horses that win for him. She adds Franco in the irons today and while her dirt form has never been good, Franco seems to get the best out of his mounts this meet so using her underneath.
Race 7- 4,3,2
Starlight Mission is dropping out of stakes company and her last 2 races outside of stakes company are more than enough to win here today. She gets Junior back in the irons who rode her back on December 14th to a win here. She is also 2-1-1-0 at this distance.
Out of Orbit has been very consistent over her past 9 starts since getting back on the dirt. She has only finished out of the money in 1 of those 9 races and is coming off a close 2nd place finish at this distance back on December 9th at this level.
No Hayne No Gayne is also dropping out of stakes company and is cutting back in distance today. She is 0/8 lifetime at Aqueduct and is only 1/8 lifetime at this distance. She has tactical speed which so I am expecting her to factor in this race.
Race 8- 8,2,7
Your Love is dropping out of Graded Stake company where she most recently ran into Marleys Freedom who would be 1/9 odds against this field. Today she is back on the outside which she has run well from in the past and adds Franco in the irons. I am not a huge fan of Chad Brown on the dirt, but if this one runs her race she will be right there with a fair shot to win in deep stretch.
Yorkiepoo Princess has early speed and has run well at Aqueduct in the past. Personally I think her best distance is 6f, but I expect her to set the pace here at 7f today, but I think she gets caught late which is why I put her 2nd.
Miss Mimosa is cutting back in distance today for Bill Mott. She is coming off a win at 1 mile last time out here on December 29th and with her tactical speed she fits right in with this field. If the pace falls apart she should be there to pick up the pieces.
