Monmouth Park Racing Analysis — Sunday, September 15, 2019, by Neil Petrocelli

Race 1:  8 – 3 – 6

Judge Carr consistent, hard trying gelding  – think he improves today coming in off a series of solid works.  Aiken Prep consistent of late, gets another piece – a repeat of last may take it.  Split the Uprights has the speed to wire these and gets a good set up.

Race 2:  3 – 4 – 1

Hopeful Angel should exploit her class edge, a repeat of any of her last 3 should take this.  Fashion Break should be ridden more patiently this time, better timing with her move may be enough.  Queen of the Party should ride the rail to a placing.

Race 3:  9 – 1 – 6

Stormy Highway – barn has great stats at the meet, should be tough in 3rd start off the layoff – improves again.  Malekith placed more appropriately today and didn’t’ do badly in last, rides the rail, will be tough.  Nick the Cardshrk another from a barn with great stats, should be tough at this level.

Race 4:   5 – 3 – 8

Going with the 1st timer as it looks like those that will be favored don’t want to win.  Pretty lucrative to keep running 2nd and 3rd – so maybe it’s a strategy.  Booj is the new shooter coming in with good works.  Wallercito might just stick it out this time, might.  Magical Jaime will burn more $$ today.

Race 5:  4 – 7 – 2

Flat Calm – looks to sit the trip off Bow Town Cat and Philanthropic.  Counting on Ph. engaging BTC a little early and Flat Calm coming to pick up the pieces.  Philanthropic looks to get the better of BTC, who always goes to the lead, always tries.

Race 6:   2 – 7 – 11

Full field of 2 yr. old maidens – going with the expensive in training purchase, Makoto.  Barn has been hot at this meet, commanded a big sale price (must have worked well – and hasn’t missed a beat in morning.  Bomoseen hails from a touch barn, is bred for speed top and bottom, and working well. Magic Carpet and Default Rate need to be included based on their connections.

Race 7:  7 – 9 – 10

Burning Question going with the barn switching ship-in.  May wake up in return to Cibelli – interesting flip there.  Keeps getting bet, may deliver with a good finish today. Nina’s Patience should be finishing think she will be able to string two good races together.  Animauxselle – will be tough off last – has gotten consistent of late, could take this.

Race 8:  7 – 6 – 5

No Dozing seems to have always been highly thought of, and disappointing.  This field should prove more to his liking – will be tough. Fortune Cookie dirt form and figs make him formidable.  Phat Man last could be an indication of a return to form – making him competitive.

Race  9: 9 – 4 – 6

Krakov needs to make up 3 lengths on I’m a Cool Man – and just may.  Favorable post, sits just outside and finishes for strong connections.  I’m a Cool Man will be tough to run down. Race sets up for speed so will get a good trip.  OnewayTicket undefeated sprinting – this is tougher.

Race 10:  4 – 1 – all

WOW is this a bad bunch – Caleb the Boss has at least shown something – by the length of the stretch…
